How we can help!
Hand in Hand is there from the very start, looking after the ordinary while families deal with extraordinary circumstances. By partnering with local professional service providers for essential services, we aim to help alleviate some of the stress and anxiety accompanying a cancer diagnosis and treatment. We offer a range of support and assistance so that no family in Ireland has to face cancer alone.

Our Services
We know that life after a child’s cancer diagnosis can be a difficult journey, but we walk hand in hand with the families that need us. Our services and support are provided to families across Ireland free of charge.

Practical Support
Hand in Hand provides domestic cleaning and laundry services around the country with the help of local cleaning companies. Once a family requires help with cleaning, the charity employs local cleaning companies in their vicinity to carry out the work. Alongside that, Hand in Hand provides family meal services around the country with the help of local services, supermarket vouchers, and online meal delivery services. Once a family requires help with meals, the Charity works with the family to find the best solution for their needs. Hand in Hand provides their services in every county in the Republic of Ireland.

Emotional Support
Hand in Hand offers a range of emotional services for both child and parent. Hand in Hand is pleased to provide adult counselling for parents across the country. Face-to-face counselling is available in the West of Ireland, and secure online counselling support is available in the rest of the country. Hand in Hand are delighted to offer Play Therapy with our in-house play therapist Denise Gordon at our Cancer Support Centre in Loughrea, County Galway. This new service is available for children affected by childhood cancer, either through their diagnosis or the diagnosis of an immediate family member.
