Organisations
ASCO
Cancer.Net is the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) patient information website that brings the expertise and resources of 45,000 members to those with cancer and those who care for them. All of the content on the website is peer reviewed by the Editorial Board that is comprised of 200 medical, surgical, radiation, and pediatric oncologists, physician assistants, oncology nurses, social workers, and patient advocates. The links below provide advice on how to navigate changing relationship and responsibilities, and how to prepare children for medical procedures.

Irish Cancer Society
The Irish Cancer Society has been providing free cancer information and support since 1963. They fund research, campaign for cancer advocacy, support patients and families. The Children and Cancer link takes you to their page that provides documents and resources for families in the form of pamphlets, which are also available below the link.

Childhood Cancer Foundation Ireland
The Childhood Cancer Foundation Ireland is a parent led charity that aims to raise awareness of childhood cancer, fund emotional supports and services for children with cancer and their families, and be the voice of children with cancer in Ireland. Rainbow Trust
The Rainbow Trust supports families with children up to the age of 18 who have a life threatening disease or terminal illness. Rainbow Trust’s support includes listening to a family’s fears and anxieties, helping to explain illnesses, diagnoses and treatments, keeping a seriously ill child company during hospital stays, driving families to medical appointments to help save time and money, organising fun activities to help sick children, their brothers and sisters, support through bereavement and grief. Make a Wish Ireland
Make a Wish Ireland’s goal is to grant wishes to children with life threatening diseases to create long lasting memories for them and their loved ones. Make a Wish Ireland is a part of the international Make a Wish family that started in America in the 1980’s. The Make a Wish values are child Focus, integrity, impact, innovation, and community.
